The Pause - The ReturnA Poem by alpha_darkA poem about how ‘traveling’ can give us respite from our problems, however they will always be there waiting for us…Turbulence and hurricanes can be left, when
enough distance is travelled.
Wounds, imprinted and kept, though enough
distance is travelled,
The Pause.
Mountains and seas grow larger, as troubles
become the never after, The Pause.
Sins - rich enough to darken the shadow of
Lucifer fall, loosed chains off the beast.
Dreams - big enough to ‘arc en ciel’ leading
over chasms, can dwarf - sweetening taste and the feast.
The Pause.
Irrelevant shimmer across the landscapes,
the diamond dust of a drought.
Drinking deeply from the savanna,
forgetting the desert princess you feel without.
The Pause.
Journey’s trickle - an hourglass reset,
return to all that was said, the time before the end.
Pain stares you in the face, platitudes are
the waking seconds, dread resides within the mistakes.
The Return.
Corpses gather - the wronged ones know,
forgiveness breathes life, sorry- the mesh of the amends.
Footprints fade, haunting memories of
freedoms flaunt - lost health to your cells, the toil - the mistake.
The Return.
Contemplation of retreat, reversing birth
does not mean to die, can you leave never, not after,
The Return.
