Ch. 15 [Epilogue]

About one year later…

 

Elise opened her eyes and looked around. She had no recollection of being here. Actually she had no memory of anything. She looked at the white ceilings, and the smell of plastic and medicine surrounded her. Her body felt stiff and her throat felt dry and itchy making her thirsty. She noticed that there was an IV in her arm. She managed to pry herself up in the bed. A feeling of nausea came over her.

 

A doctor walked in the room, and quickly walked back out. When he re-entered, a man came with him, scars lined his jaw, tears in his eyes. When Elise looked at him, she noticed something about him. He looked so familiar. The doctor was talking to some nurses and then turned to Elise, then to the man, and quickly left the room. Elise didn’t understand what was going on.

 

“You’re awake? You’re awake!” The familiar looking man said after the doctor left, extremely overjoyed.

 

“I’m awake? From what?”

 

The man explained the car accident that had happened, and how she had original head trauma from a previous incident, and the accident cause her to go into a complete coma.

 

“Do you know who you are?” The man asked.

“Of course I do. My name is Elise. But I don’t really remember what else. I try not to remember. I’ve had something happen that I don’t want to talk about.”

 

“Do you know who I am?” The man asked, his eyes still teary.

 

Elise looked at him. She was lost in his words. The sound of his voice made her want to cling onto him. His dark brown hair was so gorgeous, and his eyes. How she loved his beautiful eyes. She looked at him again.

 

“Kaedon….” She whispered. Tears starting forming in her eyes. “Kaedon! Oh my God! You’re alive! You’re alive!” She couldn’t stop crying.

 

Kaedon kissed her gently on her lips. “I can’t believe you’re awake!” Kaedon was crying to. They were kissing, and Elise was so overjoyed she could barely talk.

 

“I thought you were gone…” She was crying even more now. “What about my…my dad…” She choked.

 

“He’s gone Elise. He’ll never hurt you again. I have a surprise. Hold on.” Kaedon kissed her and walked out of the ICU. He returned with a brown hair blue eyed girl. She had scars on her arms and legs, and she walked with careful steps. She walked up to Elise.

 

“Hey. Do you remember me?” The brown haired girl asked.

Elise looked at her. Her blue eyes were playful, and her ashe brown hair sat on her shoulders. When Elise looked at her again, she remembered her from the last night she saw her. Elise started crying again.

 

“Stacie….you made it too!” She started crying even harder and gave Stacie a hug. “I’ve missed you guys so much! I love you guys…”

 

Stacie and Kaedon looked at Elise and sat and both sides of the bed. Kaedon held Elise while they explained everything that happened to one another. Elise was happy she was finally with the people she thought she had lost. Elise couldn’t stop smiling or crying, and in her head she kept praying over and over again.
