Ch. 8A Chapter by Ashley
Stacie and Jamie sat there crying. They each were comforted by Carlos and Renz.
"Baby, it's ok. It's fine now," Renz was saying to Jamie. He sat there with her shaking in his arms. She looked very uncomfortable, as if scared of being held by him. She wasn't really saying anything now, she was just scared. But, there was nothing anyone could do at the moment. The police were supposed to be getting there soon.
Stacie was still a little nervous and jumpy, was she was helping Carlos to make sure everyone else in the restaurant was ok.
"Guys!!" Stacie shouted. "Hey! Elise and Kaedon are gone!! Guys!"
Jamie looked up for a moment. Panic ran through her. "Oh my God! That guy...," she looked around, "Stacie! That guy, he has Elise!" Renz shot Jamie an odd look. She just looked away and ran to Stacie.
Everyone looked around at each other and knew it was true. The only thing was, no one knew what to do. Stacie sat down on the nearest bench and started crying into her hands.
It's all over, Stacie thought. I can't believe this.
Carlos came running over. "What just happened?"
The silence that surrounded them told everything. Carlos sat down next to Stacie. What are we going to do....
Jamie and Renz were sitting there as there injuries started to scab. Blood was over all of them. Hands, arms, legs, face. Defeated, they just sat there.
Thoughts of everything that could possibly happen to Kaedon and Elise was running through her mind. Jamie was so easily…discouraged, for lack of a better word. Sometimes, it just felt she would only sit there, and think about something, instead of actually doing it.
“What are we going to do? Just sit here?” Stacie asked everyone.
“What else can we do? Kaedon and Elise are gone. We’re sitting here bleeding right now, and we have to wait for some policeman to show up to tell us what we already know. What else can we do?” Carlos said to Stacie with tension in his voice.
It seemed kind of cold, but Stacie knew he was right. But, admitting that right now was so hard, yet so needed. He was completely right. What else could they do?
Someone dressed in black came walking up to the four of them. He looked somewhat familiar to them, but dark glasses covered his eyes, as shadows covered his face. She saw him somewhere, but Stacie couldn’t put her finger on it.
"May I talk to you guys for a second. I'm with the FBI. I need to get statements. Something very serious is going on that none of you know about."
Everyone looked at one another, not really knowing what to do. After a few moments, Stacie got up and walked outside with the guy. Everyone else followed.
After everyone was out there, the agent, or so called agent, explained everything that was going on.
"Well, isn't that just dandy," Carlos said as the agent walked away. "What are we supposed to do. We need to find Elise and Kaedon. This can't be good for them."
Stacie and Jamie were silent. Both of them thinking the same thing in their head. They were never going to find them. But, they didn't even know if they would be lucky to make it out of this alive.
Stacie looked up from the ground. "So, what are we going to do?" Her optimistic voice seemed to throw spirit into everyone. Maybe there was a chance. For a few seconds, everyone seemed to look like maybe there was something they could do.
Jamie looked around after hearing a weird noise, but it looked like she was the only one who noticed. She spun around and turned her gaze to Renz.
"Renz, do have any ideas?"
Everyone looked at him. Jamie screamed. Birds scattered away as her screetch made everyone's ears bleed. Renz fell foward, face down on the ground. Tears exploded from Jamie, and Stacie and Carlos stood in disbelief. A knife was planted in his back as blood dripped down staining his jacket and the ground.
A note was attached to the crimson covered knife, and though no one wanted to touch it, Carlos bent down. tears ran from his eyes, and dripped off of his nose onto his brother's back. "I'm so sorry...I love you man," and he carefully took the note off of the knife.
When Carlos finished reading it aloud. Everyone stood there in silence. The bushes behind them rustled.
“Oh my God, man. What the hell are we going to do?” Carlos said.
Fear struck everyone at the same time. Gazes were exchanged. Tension was like electricity above there heads. We are all going to die, every one thought.
Carlos, Jamie, and Stacie all looked at one another, and ran. Nothing anyone could do would make them stop. Everyone ran to Carlos's car, and hopped in. Carlos started the sky blue Dodge Viper Coupe, and drove as fast as he could out of the parking lot. © 2008 Ashley |
