PrologueA Chapter by Ashley
Her long brown hair was being pushed away from her face, not that it would help her breathe at all. The room was just so small, and so full of these...these people. In the corner, an elderly lady coughed in pain, and outside the window, a little girl was running after her ball. Her eyes kept dancing from the clock, to the girl, to the picture on the wall. She ached so bad just to get out of the room. Trying to focus on the picture, she began counting the spots on the dalmation, trying to ignore the slowly moving walls.
One spot, two spots, three spots...The room just kept closing in, getting darker. Four spots...Even the dalmation was growing. Five spots...The ticking sound of the clock was enhanced, hearing every sound, even her thoughts began to echo. All of the voices just kept talking more now, and just random voices swirled through her head like a hurricane sucking up everything in it's path. Trying to focus on the expanding dalmation, trickles of sweat slid down the side of her face.
Six spots...Seven...Her mind wanted to avoid the falling sweat drop, but her eyes pained, like they were attracted to it, only to look over, and see the chair swallowing her whole. Then, the sweat dropped, and everything came in at once, like a surge of blinding light in a dark room.
Voices grew louder, screaming at her. Wanting to take her with them. Then as soon as the sweat drop landed, everything went black. All the voices just...stopped. The silence, so quiet, it hurt her ears, but no more than the people did in her mind did. Reluctant to open her eyes, the racing beat of her heart echoed through the empty darkness. When her eyes shot open, she was frantic in breathe, paranoid as she looked around.
There was the old woman coughing, and the girl was still chasing after the ball. No one noticed she came back, but maybe she was there the whole time. She didn't want to think about it, and paranoid and sweat soaked ran out of the room, only to hear squealing tires, and her own shriek.
