This poem is about a fear of letting down your guard after someone broke your heart and finally finding that someone who is willing to put the pieces of you back together.

I’m not asking for forever,

I’m just asking for today,

I want you here,

No…

I need you here.

Please, don’t walk away…

I know this is new,

I know your fear,

But please,

Please….

Let me in,

Let me try!

I will mend your heart,

I promise.

My biggest struggle with this one was coming up with a last line that really packed a punch. If there are any suggestions for an ending that really may just hit home more, please comment!
