They all say it,

They all say it,

A Poem by bluebear
"

Slightly revised version of an old free verse. Prompt: A cliché.

"
They all say it,
That “the eyes are the window to the soul”
That when we look through her eyes, we see
a tiny apartment, a secluded room

Where the curtains, shut,
full of dust from the coming years

Where many worn out clothes
lay waiting on their deathbed

Where empty tubes of lipstick
hold the quivering hand steady

Where loose hair clips and hair ties
bend and snap out of shape in an attempt to stop
the shedding of her hair

Nail clippers, Nail polish,
Untidied bed, Pillow cases slipping off
Piles of emptied, Uncleaned bowls,
Uncleaned souls
They all say it,
That “the eyes are the window to the soul”
