Happy memories bring teers.

Yesterday i lost my cat. Not just an ordinary cat. My cat. A part of the family.

I woke up

Knowing all too well he isn’t here anymore.

 

I woke up

And tried hard not to look at his last bed.

 

When my brother spoke the words I feared

There was no way to stop my tears.

 

You’re gone now,

But in my heart you’ll always be.

 

As I sit here morning for you,

I smile and think of what was.

 

The times you cuddled with me

When I was so down.

 

The times you would chase that paper ball

And bring it back like you were a dog.

 

Just a cat?

No.

My cat.

 

Do you remember when you fell asleep in the old ice cream bucket?

You looked so comfy.

 

Christmas was fun,

Do you remember?

Silly you, you tried to eat the tree.

 

Plastic bags were your favorite thing to rattle around.

 

There were times I had to yell at you to get off the table.

How I’ll miss you meowing and asking me why.

 

 But though these are happy memories,

I still cry and think of you.

 

Here’s my good bye.

You’ve left this world,

Off to a better place,

You’re in God’s hands now.

 

Yes I miss you,

But I know your much happier now.

I do understand. I had a cat name Purdy for 11 years. She would lay her head on my knee by the TV or the computer. She was my cat. Losing a animal that became a friend does hurt. Sorry for your loss. Poem was sad and well written. Keep the poem with photo of the cat to remember later.
