Chapter Six (Part Two)A Chapter by allyjunegChapter 6 Part Twooooo! :) This is the ending of six. Next one will be chapter 7. Thanks for reading!Chapter 6 Part Two They say that if
something is meant to be that you should let it go and if it comes back to you,
that it truly was meant to be. I tried so hard to believe that, but my hope was
dwindling. It wasn’t because I didn’t
want to go to him. I mean, he was my mate and the pull toward him was simply irresistible…
it was because of who he was. Mates are supposed to be your other half; the one
person who you can trust completely. That was the reason I walked away. He was a liar and a
cheater. He had used countless people to get where he is now and I couldn’t be
with someone like that. I know that I was also
a liar, but it wasn’t exactly like I had a choice in the matter being forced
out onto the streets. I had to survive somehow and it really was my only
choice. He had a choice. He didn’t
have to choose his life. The worst thing though? He knew he had a mate, and yet he still slept around. He wasn’t known as the playboy because he
knew how to play sports or something like that…it was because he had countless women
groveling at his feet for his affections and he gave into them. As I sat huddled on a
side street wishing that I hadn’t discarded the credit card he said I could
keep at the moment, I realized that soon I wouldn’t be able to handle being
away from him. I felt the pull from him, and it was almost painful to ignore
it. It was literally
beckoning me to him and I was trying my hardest to ignore it, but there was
only so much I could do. So, I wasn’t surprised when I realized I had subconsciously
started walking toward the part of town he lived in. It wasn’t long before I
had to sit down from exhaustion. Lack of food and sleep will do that to a
person. I had walked into a café a few minutes ago and people were giving my
grimy state stares that would make others cringe in fear. I saw a waitress warily
make her way towards me with her yellow notepad out ready to take my order. “What can I getcha?”
she said. I ignored her and
instead asked, “Where are your bathrooms?” She pointed to the left
where I could see a short hallway. I murmured a quick thanks and slowly got
onto my wobbly feet, but before I could take a step the world started to get
shaky. My last thought before I
hit the ground was oddly something I never thought I would hear myself think. Ash, help me… ---------------------- Ash’s P.O.V. I felt her cry for
help. It echoed in my mind like a siren and made me drop the phone I held in my
hand. Ash, help me… I didn’t quite
understand what was going on, but I found my feet started to walk on their own
accord. “Have you been keeping
tabs on her?” I snapped harshly at my Beta as I came upon him. He looked extremely
confused and that was all the confirmation I needed to know that something was
truly wrong. -- I searched for over an
hour before I finally found out what was going on. I found out that she had
been on the streets. The streets! She
had thrown away all the money and the credit card apparently and was sleeping
on the streets with no food! That stupid girl! I was listening to her
doctor about how she would need to stay under medical supervision until her strength
was back up and that was really the only thing I heard other than the fact that
she almost died. She almost died and I wasn’t
there for her. I shouldn’t have let her walk away. I should have chased after
her and begged her to stay. I was finally done
talking to the Doctor and was allowed to see her. I walked into the
bright hospital room and was immediately met with the tangible smell of antiseptic.
It made my nose hairs curl and my eyes water, but what really shocked me was
the tiny woman lying on the hospital bed. I walked over to her
slowly and touched her cheek. She was so cold. If it weren’t for the fact that I
could hear her heart and the monitor beating, I would have thought her dead. The starvation was
clear in her features. He eyes had a bluish tint under them and it was
saddening to see. I felt a wetness start
to roll down my cheek and I was astonished that I was crying. I sunk to my
knees slowly and let out a small cry of anguish. I knew it would
probably wake her, but I needed to look into her eyes and tell her how much I needed
her. Her eyes slowly opened
and looked around frantically. After about 30 seconds, they finally rested on
me. “You came for me”, she
whispered hoarsely. Then, with a small
smile on her lips, she drifted back off to sleep. © 2013 allyjuneg |
