99. Case at Last

*In Quantico*

 

*We’re all gathered around the conference table -- Hotchy, Megan, Jocelyn, Reid, Mayisha, Morgan, Prentiss, Gideon, Garcia, and I -- and we watch the screen with interest as JJ flips it on and begins to talk*

 

JJ: Two men were murdered on an island last week. It’s an out-of-America case, and we’ve been asked to deal with it. Their bodies were mutilated, multiple body parts were missing, and their eyes were scratched one. One man was forty five, going to the island on a vacation away from his family, and the other was twenty-two, lost at sea and camping out on the beach for a little bit.

 

Hotchner: One was planned and one wasn’t.

 

Reid: Their ages are very different.

 

Me: What to connect these two guys other than their bodies, their gender, and where they died?

 

Hotchner: Does anyone else live on the island?

 

JJ: No. It’s a privately owned island, but people manage to get their pilots to get there sometimes.

 

Prentiss: Who owns the island?

 

JJ: Some place called InGen.

 

Me: …now why does that sound so dreadfully familiar?

 

Gideon: Does it sound familiar to anyone else?

 

Everyone Else: Nope.

 

Gideon: The body parts were missing… could the UnSub have taken them as a souvenir?

 

Jocelyn: And how the hell did he get on that island on the first place?

 

JJ: Guess we’re gonna have to find out.

 

Hotchner: *stands up* Wheels up in twenty minutes. Get your overnight bags.

 

Me: D****t. I can’t remember.

 

Megan: Remember what?

 

Mayisha: You know, InGen DOES sound familiar.

 

Jocelyn: Doesn’t it?

 

Me: Well, at last, it’s a case.

 

Megan: You didn’t have a case while I was gone?

 

Mayisha: Nope. All we did was paperwork.

 

Jocelyn: It was excruciatingly boring.

 

Me: …*smirks* Well, not EXCRUSIATING…

 

Mayisha: *sighs* The Doctor came here sometimes.

 

Megan: Oh. *winces*

 

Jocelyn: You okay?

 

Megan: I’m fine, why? *smiles*

 

Me: WHEELS UP. WE GOTTA GO.

 

Jocelyn: Oh, but I have a bad feeling about this…
