84. The Second Call

An emotional chapter. :(

*In Boston, Massachusetts*

 

*The BAU, at least what is left of them, are going through case files when Megan holds up one insistently and shakes it in the air, practically spazzing out*

 

Gideon: What? What is it?

 

Megan: I KNOW WHO THE UNSUB IS!!

 

Everyone Else: WHO?!

 

Megan: It’s Joshua Michaels. He’s been diagnosed with depression, and OCD. He’s been detained twice for violent behavior, and he had a terrible childhood. He was abused as a child, and he knew all three of the victims through his work.

 

Prentiss: That’s gotta be more than a coincidence.

 

*Before anyone can move, Trip runs in*

 

Trip: We’ve got another call.

 

Mayisha: OH GOD, WHAT IF ONE OF THEM DIED.

 

Gideon: He’s probably not THAT violent. *little does he know…*

 

*The team goes into the other room and Gideon answers the phone once again*

 

Gideon: Hello?

 

UnSub: One is dead.

 

Gideon: Are you sure?

 

UnSub: Yes.

 

Gideon: *is slightly panicky* Can you tell me which one died?

 

Megan: *gasps*

 

Mayisha: Oh God…

 

Prentiss and JJ: *put their hands over their mouths*

 

Garcia: *tears up*

 

UnSub: No. Unless you want the other to die as well, I will return one dead and one alive if you stop hunting me.

 

Gideon: What if I say no?

 

UnSub: I kill the other one. I’ll give you two hours. *hangs up*

 

Prentiss: Oh God. Do you think he went through with it?

 

Gideon: This guy can’t lie. He’s always honest. He believes every word he says.

 

Megan: B-but, couldn’t he be lying? Just to us?

 

Gideon: No.

 

Prentiss: Then how did he escape the law for so long?

 

Gideon: No one blatantly asked, “Are you a serial killer?”.

 

JJ: Oh God… We have to find them.

 

Mayisha: G-Garcia?

 

Garcia: *has tears streaming down her face* Y-yup, I’ll get up the places he lives. *a moment later* He’s got a warehouse a mile or so from here.

 

Gideon: Let’s start there.

 

*They all get into their SUV’s, and drive to the warehouse*

 

Megan: *pulls out her gun*

 

Gideon: Megan, be careful.

 

Megan: He killed one of my friends. I HAVE to find out who it is.

 

Gideon: When you find out… You might not like it.

 

Megan: He’d probably kill the stronger. That’d be… Morgan.

 

Prentiss: Neither can be dead. He HAD to have been lying.

 

JJ: He can’t lie… *is crying now*

 

Gideon: c’mon, everyone. Let’s not be emotional.

 

Mayisha: HOW CAN WE NOT?! One of our friends are inside that warehouse, dead. What are we going to do about it?

 

Prentiss: Please… Mayisha…

 

Mayisha: I can’t! I just… can’t!

 

Megan: Jeez… I’ve never seen Mayisha this emotional…

 

Mayisha: ONE OF MY FRIENDS JUST DIED.

 

JJ: Our friend.

 

Prentiss: I’m not sure if I can do this.

 

JJ: *takes her hand* We’ll do this together. All of us. *takes Megan’s hand*

 

Megan: *takes Gideon’s hand*

 

Gideon: *looks to take Mayisha’s hand, but she moves away* Fine.

 

Megan: *breathes out* Let’s do this.

 

*The BAU team goes inside the warehouse, guns drawn, to see which of their friends were dead and face the man that killed them*

This is really hard to write. I'll be glad when it's over, and I can get back to the spazziness.
