31. Aw, You Miss Me?

*In Denver, Colorado*

 

*Reid, Joss, Jack and Mayisha are setting up on the evidence board. Detective Powers watches beside them with a creepy look on his face. Mayisha turns back and stares at him as well. Since the case in Seattle, Mayisha hasn’t learned to trust any of the authorities except for the rest of the BAU team. Reid is absorbed in the case file he’s looking at, and Jocelyn is looking at… Reid. Mayisha elbows her when Hotch walks in, and she gets to work. Mayisha shoots her a silent look that reads “we’ll talk about this later”. Jocelyn looks scared*

 

Reid: *notices the missing team members* Where’s Gideon and Megan?

 

Hotchner: They’re not with you?

 

Mayisha: No.

 

Hotchner: They must be with Morgan and the others, then.

 

Mayisha: What, did you lose them?

 

Hotchner: They, um, wandered off.

 

Mayisha: *dryly* You lost them.

 

Hotchner: Well--

 

Jocelyn: ANYWAY.

 

Reid: Yes, did you find anything?

 

Hotchner: The hole was definitely dug prior to the body being dumped, and possibly by multiple people.

 

Reid: How many people are we talking about?

 

Hotchner: Not sure. I’ll get back to you on that.

 

Jack: *runs into the room* JOCELYN I LOVE YOU!!!

 

*Jack jumps from Jocelyn, but she leaps out of the way and Jack lands on Hotch*

 

Hotchner: CAPTAIN HARKNESS, GET OFF ME!

 

Jack: *jumps off him* I’m so sorry sir! But, I do have to say, you have a great pillow!

 

Hotchner: I WHAT?!

 

Jocelyn: *giggles* Olivia would like to hear that.

 

Reid: Speaking of Liv, should we call her up?

 

Mayisha: And tell her--

 

Hotchner: *interrupts* Okay.

 

Jocelyn: *smirks* Someone’s in a hurry to hear from Liv.

 

Hotchner: No, it’s just… I…

 

Mayisha: HAHAHA! I’M GOING TO START SHIPPING HOLIVIA!

 

Hotchner: H-what?

 

Mayisha: Olivia/Hotch pairing.

 

Hotchner: W-what?

 

Reid: Don’t ask. That’s what I’ve been doing.

 

Mayisha: AND REID KNOWS ALL!

 

Jack: Don’t kick me to the curb or anything…

 

Jocelyn: You’re an insane stalker. Of course you’re not going to know all.

 

Jack: Are we going to call Olivia or what?!

 

Mayisha: *laughs evilly* Olivia’s popular today.

 

Hotchner: *sighs* Just call her.

 

*Reid picks up his phone and dials Garcia’s number. He places it on speaker and puts it in the center of the table. All five members present lean in. This is when Mayisha notices that Detective Powers has left, but she says nothing because she doesn’t trust him*

 

Garcia: Hello, you have reached the center of all knowledge. Speak or be spoken to~

 

Hotchner: Hello, Garcia, is Smith there?

 

Garcia: *curtly* Oh yes, I should have known. You’re calling the new agent instead of the old one.

 

Hotchner: Garcia…

 

Garcia: Oh no, it’s fine. *sarcastically*

 

Reid: Garcia, I need you to do something.

 

Garcia: Oh, your honey-sweet voice always picks me up, Spencer darling. What is it?

 

Reid: I need you to look up any newspaper articles about cults in the area.

 

Garcia: Gotcha, gorgeous.

 

Hotchner: Did you steal that from Olivia?

 

Garcia: Yes, jeez, don’t go all protective boyfriend on me.

 

Hotchner: I’m not being a protective boyfriend! *turns to the others* *is unsure of himself* Am I?

 

Mayisha: *nods, laughing* Yeah, you kind of are.

 

Garcia: OLIVIA, GET OVER HERE!

 

Reid: What is she doing?

 

Garcia: Making out in the kitchen closet with Anderson.

 

Reid, Mayisha, Jocelyn, Jack and Hotch: WHAT?!

 

Garcia: *laughs* Just kidding. OLIVIA, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?

 

Me: COMING!

 

*They hear clicking on the speaker. It’s me crutching over. The clicking stops and I breathe out a heavy sigh*

 

Me: ‘Tis about time you guys checked in.

 

Jocelyn: Well, Livs, we’re not exactly tied to you…

 

Me: BUT IT’S SO BOOOORING HERE!

 

Garcia: HEY, DON’T KNOCK IT!

 

Me: I’m not knocking it. I’m just saying it’s boring.

 

Hotchner: We’re checking in now.

 

Jocelyn: AND SOMEONE’S MISSING YOU! *cough*AGENTHOTCHER*cough*

 

Hotchner: STERLING!

 

Me: Aw, you miss me?

 

Hotchner: … *says nothing*

 

Reid: He really does!

 

Hotchner: Shush.

 

Me: Aw, I’m blushing, Hotchy.

 

Hotchner: I thought I told you not to call me that.

 

Me: You did. I didn’t listen~

 

Hotchner: *sighs*

 

Me: Now, down to real business. What have you guys found out so far?

 

Hotchner: *relays information*

 

Me: Ooh, a toughie. I wish I was there.

 

Jocelyn: WE WISH YOU WERE HERE TOO!

 

Me: Where’s everyone else?

 

Hotchner: Morgan, Prentiss and JJ are interviewing the first victim’s family.

 

Me: And Gideon and Megan?

 

Mayisha: *cracks up* Hotch lost them!

 

Me: HOTCH WHAT?!

 

Hotchner: I DID NOT!

 

Me: What happened?

 

Hotchner: I was talking to the police around the crime scene when they wandered off. I assumed that they came back to one of the teams, but they probably went off on their own.

 

Me: It’s probably Megan’s idea…

 

Mayisha: Yup, she probably fell over and regenerated and blinded Gideon.

 

Hotchner and Garcia: Regenerated?

 

Reid: Wait, she’s a--

 

Me: NO SHE’S NOT! MAYISHA’S LYING!

 

Mayisha: *gets it* Oh yes, I’m totally lying.

 

Jocelyn: It’s what she does.

 

Mayisha: I lie all the time.

 

Me: She lies like a rug.

 

Jack: A really, really flat rug.

 

*Everyone glares at him*

 

Jack: What?

 

Jocelyn: *mutters* Stalker.

 

Jack: I LOVE YOU JOCELYN STERLING!

 

Hotchner: *pushes him to the ground* I’m going to check in with Morgan and the others. Garcia, work on what we told you, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

 

Me: I MISS YOU, HOTCHY!

 

Hotchner: *says nothing*

 

Reid: HE JUST DOESN’T WANT TO ADMIT HE MISSES YOU TOO!

 

Hotchner: *gasps* Reid!

 

Reid: What, it’s true!

 

Garcia: You know it~

 

Me: Aw, Hotchy, I’m still blushing~

 

Hotchner: But… Wait… I…

 

*Garcia and I hang up*

 

Hotchner: Oh…

 

Reid: *claps himself on the shoulder* You know you love her, man.

 

Hotchner: … *says nothing*
