Not Really a Poem

Not Really a Poem

A Poem by E.A. Rubin
"

Okay, I wrote this thing that I was going to post on social media but then that scared me so I decided to publish it here.

"
Have you ever wondered if your whole life was only that...your life? Like did you ever think maybe the world as you see it is not real? It occurred to me I could wake up one day and find that everyone is an actor in my life and that I'm the center of the universe. Maybe there aren't really starving people here in the United States and in far-off countries. Perhaps nobody is really at war, because war doesn't exist. Terrorism doesn't happen. Murder is not real. I have even thought that possibly I don't live on a round planet. If you think really hard I believe you might see what I'm suggesting.

A very well known philosopher, Rene Descartes came up with something very similar. Its called Cogito Ergo Sum which translates to "I think therefore I am." I think you might find his pholosophy very interesting.

About
In my lifetime, I have probably written more words than I ever spoke aloud. Over the last few months, I took a hiatus in publishing what I've written, except my posts on social networks. In my spare.. more..
