Lullaby

Lullaby

A Poem by S. Allison (Ferrante) Sanderson
"

A poetic compilation of the made up lullabies that I like to sing to my two sweet babies when I tuck them in at night. Sweet dreams...

"

Don't fall asleep yet sweet Daphney, my precious baby doll,

Open your pretty brown eyes and I'll guide you so you don't fall.

You're tired because today has ended and now it is bedtime for us all.

Come my little boy Sabastian, my sweet son that you are.

Cause now it's time for catching and wishing on a star.

We'll wish upon the shiniest star in heaven from afar.

We mustn't make haste so let us hug n' kiss Daddy right away.

Sweetly hug one another tight and let's all bow our heads to pray.

Dear God and baby Jesus, we all thank you for this beautiful day.

Lay down my sweet babies, hug your bears and softly close your eyes.

I will tuck you into your beds with this day's final serenade surprise.

And to you both, I will whisper one of Mommy's painted lullabies.

Dream away now into this night and your Mommy will dream of thee.

Your dreams can be about anything that your heart wishes for them to be.

There's a cow jumping over the moon, if you dream really hard you will see.

High up in the starry sky, imagine that there are tiny dancing sheep.

And they are dancing to the Angels' chorus to help us fall asleep.

Angels watch over us as a promise to God that they will forever keep.

If you happen to hear thunder, please do not be afraid nor feel fear.

For Mommy and Daddy are right down the hall and we too will hear.

Just imagine it's an elephant dancing in the clouds or practicing a cheer.

I am so very proud of you both and please remember I am not far,

And as you drift off to sleep now while wishing upon your shiny star,

Please know that Mommy will always love you both, just the way you are.

I loved the second verse so much, but this whole poem is beautiful. I loved the rhyme scheme and the amazing blend of words you used. Great read!
