Queen of the Dark
A Poem by Alli
Darkness can be a friend and great companion, a beautiful escape from the harsh light of the world.
The silence greeted her with a hug and the darkness comforted her,
for there no one could see her cry.
The pain sliced her heart
the shame burned her soul,
but no blood ran down her dreams,
for it was her cage being cut away,
her armor being burned.
Do not be afraid,
the darkness said
You are strong,
the silence whispered.
And you will rise again,
the pain and shame reminded her.
So when the darkness retreated,
she rose. Again. And again. And again. But the sun, it scorched her aching heart, and the laughter beat at her weary soul.
So every night,
she let darkness wipe away her tears,
and pain hold her close.
Silence soothed her burns.
But every day,
she would rise with a newfound strength
a newfound hope.
And it would burn out in this world of light.
Until eventually, she stopped rising.
For if she couldn't be an inhabitant of the light, then she would be Queen of the Dark.

This is quite a nice poem, where do you get your fantastic ideas from? I'm intrigued, this is the first poem of its kind that I have seen.
