CameraA Story by Allie-SheaThe flash blinded me leaving blue dots surrounding my disoriented mind. The camera snapped. The flash blinded me leaving blue dots surrounding my disoriented mind. He laughed as he snapped another shot. “Stop!” I begged, knowing I probably looked rather dumb in the unexpected photos. Shaking his head he lowered the camera. His brown eyes looked at me as he smiled warmly in my direction. A light blush ran across my cheeks. “I’m going to miss you…a lot,” he said while running his hand through my hair. I held back the tears and nodded, “I-I’m going to miss you too,” he was going on another four month trip. He had to go back to Virginia to continue his training. He lured me into a hug and kissed the top of my head. “I’ll write you, I’ll call you, I’ll tell you every single day how much I love you,” he promised. I nodded again, now unable to speak because it felt as if I were to blurt out any word I’d fall into a fit of tears. I didn’t want him to see me cry, not now, he already felt bad enough. “Don’t cry,” he said in a comforting voice. Now pulling me away from my paints and guiding me to the unmade bed. Sitting down next to me his arm wrapped around my small frame as he pulled me close to him. “It’s going to be okay,” he added. My blue eyes looked at the messy bed, I’d be sleeping alone for four months. I’d have no clue what he would be doing. I would be alone, and I know I wouldn’t hear from him everyday. How was any of this okay?… © 2012 Allie-SheaAuthor's Note
