Class 205A Chapter by Allie-SheaBeep, beep, beep. A loud annoying ring buzzed through the room forcing my tired eyes opened. I rolled to my side and stared emptily at the wall. The beeping continued; my alarm clock. Groaning, I swatted the clocked with my hand which resulted in it falling to the floor and coming unplugged. Thus, in away turning it off. We didn’t get back ‘home’ till late...or well early this morning at around four something. When we got back I didn’t hesitate getting to my bed. While I had quickly stripped myself of everything but my boxers, and crawled under the thin sheet due to the heat. I wasn’t sure if Milo had gone straight to bed or continued to sit on the floor clearly out of his mind. We were basically thrown in the room by KiKi as she called him a dumb a*s and walked away not making eye contact with me. “God damn, Tony. I thought you were never going to turn that thing off,” I heard a rather awake voice chime. The smell of smoke soon filled the room, smoke? “Milo...are you...smoking?” I asked while hiding my head under the blankets. How often did this kid smoke anyways? His friendly chuckled was followed by foot steps, “Yes. Yes, I am. Now get up it’s 6:30, don’t you need to get ready?” he began questioning me while the cancer stick hung from his lips. “Uh...no?” I moaned hoping he’d let me go back to sleep. Part of my mind wanted to know why this kid was already awake, ready to go, and smoking at 6:30 in the morning. I chose against it though. Figuring, it wasn’t worth the headache at this time in the morning anyways. “Get the hell up,” he demanded while pulling the blanket off my shirtless body. I shivered, when did it get so cold? Weren’t these rooms uncomfortably hot earlier? “Fine,” I mumbled after protesting for another five minutes and coming to the realization that if I did not get up my entire bed would have been torn apart. Milo smiled and finished his cigarette and walked back to his side of the room. He put the cigarette out in the charred ash tray and cracked a window to let the smoke out of the room. For that...I was thankful, even if he hadn’t done it for me. “That-a-boy,” Milo laughed as he walked from the cracked window. He was wearing tight dark purple skinny jeans that seemed washed out with black, he also wore a low white v-neck, and had aviator sun glasses on top of his head with a rainbow studded belt. He had on gray and purple laced slip on Vans Shoes and his hair was styled already. “What time did you get up?” I mumbled while rubbing the sleep from my drowsy eyes. Milo sighed and sat on his black desk chair and spun slowly, “Five,” he looked so serious as he spoke. Though, I continued to think he was joking. I mean after having as much s**t in your system like he had last night you’d think the man would still be knocked out, or at least not so chipper. “You’re kidding. There’s no way you only slept for an hour,” I said while putting on a pair of loose but still fit blue jeans. Milo leaned back in the chair slightly and looked at me with his deep colored eyes, “No. I am not kidding, but believe what you want. Besides, did you realize what time it is? You’re gonna be late for class if you keep this speed up,” he said with a smile that told me everything I had already known; I wasn’t prepared. Now moving faster I threw on a black band t-shirt and a pair of socks. “Damn it!” I screamed when my foot met the corner of my desk during the rush to put my shoes on. Like usual while struggling to compose myself I managed to get injured. Milo let out another chuckle and shut the window. “Come on, slick,” he said with a laugh and grabbed me by the wrist dragging me out of dorm. Staggering behind him as we swiftly moved through the crowded halls. Tyler has appeared next to us and smiled as he watched me being pulled through the halls, “Morning, Tony,” he said with a simple nod to the head. He seemed so dark and very level headed, yet he hung out with someone so cheerful and well...not so level headed. Nothing made sense. “Morning, Tony,” he said while his hands where in his pockets. Tyler was wearing a pair of khaki cargo shorts with many pockets, a black beater, white sweat band and had dog tags hanging from around his neck and his shoes were black and white Nike high tops. He seemed more...well sporty than the rest of the group each time I saw him he just gave off that type of feeling. “Morning,” I barely managed to get out while Milo continued to drag me quickly. Adrian then met us his smile seemingly warm, but his eyes had dark circles and looked sunken in. He didn’t say morning to me, he simply followed. His outfit was similar to the one from yesterday. Just...a different plaid top. “Morning, Adrian!” I said still, in a pathetic attempt to be polite. He didn’t respond to my greeting, I assume that he was effected by the ‘experimenting’ or what I though was ‘experimenting’ they had done last night. “She’s coming,” Tyler said, only causing Milo to bolt into a full fledged run while dragging me behind him. Tyler and Adrian stayed behind. Distractions? I thought though couldn’t ask because if felt that if I even tried to stop Milo would continue to run and probably rip my arm off in the process. “My Mister Johnston...you made great timing,” an older voice said was we bursted through the heavy swinging doors of the classroom. I looked around then fished my schedule from my pocket. Class 205. The paper read, I looked at the board which also read the same. How did Milo know my first class, or was this just sheer luck? “Just could not wait to see my favorite teacher,” Milo spoke in a tone that was just with burning sarcasm. The old man shook his head. He was wearing a pair of khaki pants, a blue button up shirt with a red tie. He had on a brown belt and brown shoes, and absolutely no hair. He was rather aged and kind of reminded me of a raisin...kind of. “No need for your witty remarks, Mister Johnson. Please you and your friend,” he paused and looked at me. I assumed he was waiting for a name. “Anthony,” I said with a smile that was returned with a straight face, he was waiting for my last name, “Marlow. Anthony Marlow,” I finished my sentence. The man smiled, “Yes...you and Mister Marlow...please go take a seat,” he said then returned to his ‘busy work’ at his desk. Milo simply walked toward the back of the class and sat down patting the desk next to his and smirking. This was a class I would have to put up with, History. With someone who seemed like he could get me in more trouble than I’d actually want to truly be in...not that I even wanted trouble. “How’d you know this was my class?” I questioned him while taking the seat he patted. “You were asleep. You’re schedule was laying around. So, I looked. Memorized it, bud,” he said with another smirk with tapping the side of his head with his index finger. Great this guy was crazier than I thought. “I see, well...that’s kind of creepy,” I mumbled while pulling out a tablet from my bag I had barely managed to grab while I was pulled out of the dorm room. “I find it flattering,” Milo said while leaning forward, tapping on the desk repeatedly. The sound was starting to get to me and I was struggling to control myself. The class began to fill with more strangers, the teacher wrote his name in large capital letters on the board. DR. HODES, I scribbled the name of the teacher on the tablet and wrote. HISTORY underneath his name. “I am not going to take tardiness. If you are late to my class you will not be caught up. If you disrupt my class, I will have you leave. I am hear to teach, I do not believe that I can learn from you as you learn from me. Because, I’ve been here far too long and now understand people like you. Thus, you will be silent. Speak when asked. Otherwise...silent. I am Doctor Hodes no Professor, nor am I Doctor H. You all will address me by my last name, for the next hour and a half you are under my supervision and must follow my rules,” he said through shortened breaths as he stood behind his podium.
Milo rolled his eyes and sighed, “This guy is a dick,” he spat. The class room wasn’t that big, about thirty some people in the class. Milo began to sink into his seat and stare emptily at the board a head of him. “Open to page twenty two in your books,” Doctor Hodes coughed. All at once everyone grabbed their books and opened to that page. Then the lecture began. Milo was clearly uninterested, as was I. It all felt like review. Milo gazed out the window and I soon followed. My was I mocking the actions of this man? Clearly, he was indeed trouble that I knew deep down only meant bad news...yet...I followed him like a duckling followed it’s mother. “The weather’s nice for once,” Milo sighed. It was clear he wished he could go outside. I didn’t blame him, anything was sounding better than listening to the low groaning voice of the professor. “Mister Johnston and Marlow, are you bored with my lecture,” Hodes asked. I straightened up and reverted my attention towards him once more, “No, Doctor Hodes,” I said hoping to get back on his good side. Too bad my attempts went down in vein because Milo had to open his mouth and speak, “Yeah...we actually are incredibly bored with your dull lectures. No one cares, and I’m not gonna sit here and lie to you. Saying that you don’t bore me to the point that my heart actually stops momentarily, would be a lie. You wouldn’t want me to lie would you?” he seethed. Of course he had to say we. Now I was pulled into this as well. Hodes so nothing he simply pointed with his finger that looked like it’d break off and turn to dust at any moment. “Five steps a head of you,” Milo spat while already half way toward the door. He turned and looked at me, “Are you coming or not, Tony!” he yelled. I sighed and also picked up my stuff. How embarrassing first day and Milo has already made an a*s out of me, “What was that for? You just had to be a smart a*s!” I yelled while slinging the back pack over my shoulders. Milo rolled his eyes, “Chill the f**k out,” he said while walking through the halls. I glared heavily and crossed my arms while the bag slung carelessly over my back. Shaking my head I could only stare at his back if I were to look straight forward. “You’re a real a*****e, aren’t you?” I spat sharply. Though my reaction I got from him was anything other than what I was expecting. He laughed lightly and nodded, “Yup,” he said simply while putting his hands on the back of his head. I wanted to kick him, slap him, remove that cocky little personality from the stubborn b*****d. He was so careless...yet, I followed him. I narrowed my eyes now and began to question him again, “Where are you’re books anyways?” Again he didn’t care, he simply continued to walk, “Who needs books?” he said shortly. I could have very well argued that statement...or was it a question? Either way I could have argued it with him, but that was a pointless cause when it came to this kid. I was slowly coming to terms with that as well, and to think it was only my second day. “Now...we have to find them,” he murmured. Honestly, I didn’t fully understand why he was so damn indirect about everything and everyone. “Who?” I asked while now catching up and walking along side him. “My friends,” he looked at me and chuckled. I sighed I assumed it was his friends, I was wondering who they were. Then again would it matter if he told me? Probably not, I didn’t know anyone anyways. “Dante!” Milo had randomly shouted while my mind stumbled over itself. I looked up to see him sprinting toward another guy. He had dark skin and fluffy black hair. It wasn’t much of an afro, because it was more straight and straggly than curly and round. They did a weird handshake thing, that only left me slightly baffled, before pulling into a one armed hug. “Hey Mi,” Dante said with a light smile before looking at me with two dark eyes. I looked down. How awkward was this? Why couldn’t he just introduce me? “Sup, bro?” Dante laughed while looking directly at me. I stumbled over myself as I was quickly put on the spot, “Hi,” I said softly. Dante and Milo fell into a fit of laughter confusing me, “What’s so funny?” I asked lowly. They pointed at me and Milo smirked, “He said sup, not hi,” he explained. Only they would find something that stupid funny. I thought while shaking my head, “Oh. Nothing. Got kicked out of class cause Milo’s a d********g,” I said once more in a sharp acid-like tone. “First taste of, Mi’s troublesome ways?” he questioned us both. Milo only nodded, I mimicked the action. “Where’s KiKi?” Milo asked as if he was an undercover agent looking for the location of a criminal. Dante smiled, “Where she normally is. Under the willow tree, looking at the only decent view of the campus with Mae. The usual, Mi. Why?” Dante asked now curious as well. Milo shook his head, “We’re getting together tonight...all of us. You’re gonna man up and come this time...right?” his words were sharp and it was clear Dante was uncomfortable with the idea of going with them...honestly I didn’t blame him. Though I watched Dante cave into Milo’s manipulative trap just as I had, “Of course,” he said with a smile, “As long as if won’t be a dud this time,” he forced a laugh. Milo had put pressure on hims that even I could feel, “Oh...it won’t be,” he chuckled and looked at me, “Come on, Tony. We’re gonna go find out lovely KiKi,” he said. “See you tonight, Dante,” he added finally.
I staggered behind Milo like a lost puppy, “What are the plans for tonight?” I spoke with an eager grin. Why was I even smiling? It was probably something illegal they were planning. Milo smiled, “Something fun. Now...help me find them,” he said while scouting the school grounds. Again I followed his actions. There she sat with blonde hair and pale skin. Wearing white shorts and a black v-neck that had the eyes of the Cheshire cat on them, along with a neon yellow belt with a batman belt buckle and purple slip on shoes. She was holding a bottle covered in a brown paper bag in her left hand and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to know what it was. She still wore her many bracelets and necklaces while staring at the surprisingly nice view in front of her, while laughing at something I assumed Mae had said. Mae was wearing a pair of longer shorts and pink and black Hurley t-shirt, she had on a pair of black flip flops, and many bracelets. “Hey girls,” Milo said while taking a seat next to them. I stood there frozen in time, her beauty once more had me stunned. I was scared to move, because if I made the wrong move...I’d be attacked. “Hey,” Mae said softly. Again KiKi didn’t bother speaking, she flipped open her phone and stared at the screen emptily. Something...or well most likely someone was upsetting her. I sat next to Milo and looked at the girls as well. “Hi,” I managed to force from my nervous voice. I was greeted the same as Milo. “Why aren’t you two in class?” KiKi questioned while taking a swig of her...mystery drink. Milo chuckled, “I don’t ever allow myself to be thrown out of class without a reason, you know that. We’re not in class because we want to know what time you’ll be ready by tonight. That way we can-” “I’m not going,” KiKi cut Milo short of his explanation. The man’s eyes grew wide with shock and disappointment and he began to shake his head and question her. She simply stared at the scenery and sipped her drink, which I was now just going to pretend it was root beer. “Don’t start with me, Milo Johnston. I said I’m not going and I’m not changing my damn mind...got it?” she spat. Milo’s head hung low, “It’s him isn’t it. He yelled at you...and now you won’t go,” he retorted. “F**k off,” her words were sharp and even stung me as the flew from her pink poison lips. “So...I’m right aren’t I?” “No...you’re not. He hasn’t said anything to me since last night when we were on our way to the factory. I’m not going because I don’t feel like it. I have to study...and it wouldn’t be so bad to spend a night inside with a good book, some music, careless internet surfing, and some actual sleep. You know...doing something that’s not going to put my entire future at risk. Sometimes, Milo...that’s one of the greatest things to do,” she huffed. Like usual Mae was silent. Milo rolled his eyes, “Fine...whatever. Your loss...Dante’s coming tonight,” he said with a hint of hope in his voice that her mind would magically change because Dante was going. “So? I told you I’m not going. Don’t waste you’re time. Besides, your next class is in...well, twenty minutes. Go get your damn books and learn something. By the time you’ve gathered your stuff it’ll be time for class. I’ll see you later, Milo,” she said harshly. Milo’s dark eyes gazed at me, “This is a free period for you...so...I’ll see you soon,” he smiled and ran off leaving me with Mae and KiKi. I still found it weird that he was familiar with my schedule...more familiar than I was. “Actually, I have class in like...ten minutes. I’ll see you two,” Mae said as she picked up her black shoulder bag and walked off. Now, I was alone...with KiKi. © 2012 Allie-SheaAuthor's Note
