Prologue

Six. Six kids. Six failed experiments. Six freaks. That’s us. Freaks.

If you’re reading this right now, don’t stop. It’s too late. You’ve already started reading about the six failed experiments of GT Tech lab. Also known as us.

Who’s ‘us’, you ask? ‘Us’ would include me-Xephia, Thane, Felix, Geb, Ava, and Rorik.

We have no parents, we were created. Not born like you and your parents, created. By scientists at GT Tech lab. GT Tech lab is a government testing lab. They genetically enhanced us to make us what we are.

I’m sorry; I’m probably coming off to you as a snot. I don’t mean to brag about being ‘genetically enhanced’ at all. You see, they locked us in cages and ran tests nearly all day long.

There was a girl even younger than Rorik, Nora, who was only 7. She was in the cage next to me, and they seemed to run the most tests on her. But they didn’t realize that she was wearing down over a stretch of time. One morning after I woke up, I looked over into Nora’s cage and she was gone. I could lean over just far enough to see the name tag on the front of her cage. It said ‘Experiment 00351.’ Then in large, red print was the word ‘failed’ stamped across the whole tag. That’s right. We were treated like animals.

On a lighter note, we escaped from that lab about a month ago. It’s nothing to be proud of, though. We did what we had to do.

Other than being extremely advanced physically and mentally, we does have some special powers.

Me? Oh, I control plants. Yeah, yeah, stop laughing. Plants may seem pretty lame, but trust me, they about as good as any power. Tripping your brother even though you’re twenty feet apart? Priceless.

So I guess that’s all I have to say.

Just in case you were wondering, Nora is the little girl in the cage next to Xephia, and in the forest. Xephia will not tell anyone that she knew who she was from the lab right away. :3
