I didn't finish this but I kinda liked it

"

“Hey, kid, you can’t sleep here.” The security guard flashed his light in the teen’s eyes.

            “Ah, f**k. Turn off that goddamn light, would ya?”

            “Sorry.” While the guard was shutting off the light, Rachel collected her belonging. She knew the drill. Pack her sleeping bag, satchel, smokes, wallet, jacket and boots, all under 3 minutes; a new record.

            “If you need a place to stay, there’s a homeless shelter on 54th and-“

            “I’m not homeless.”

            “Well then are you living in a sleeping bag behind a department store?”

            “I don’t need to explain myself to you,” Rachel turned and walked the familiar path back to her mother’s apartment. She put a cigarette to her lips, lit it, drew in a breath and exhaled, “This city is the worst.”
