SelfishA Poem by Allison Terranovawrote this to enter a contest and now I really like it. Wanted to expand on it but couldn't think of much. Maybe I'll add to it one dayI ate a full meal While she couldn’t keep anything down I cried from laughter While she laughed at herself for crying again I carved pumpkins with our friends While she carved lines into her wrists I wrote a letter just to say hello While she wrote her goodbye I took a painkiller for my headache While she took the rest of the bottle for her heartache My heart keeps beating But hers never did again She needed me I failed her © 2015 Allison Terranova |
