Action Of RegretA Poem by Allison PriceIn memory of a girl in my town who was hit and killed by a drunk driver.Unfair, she was taken. A rode ended by someone’s mistake. A small light of promise extinguished, drowned
in a liquid of greed. A
weak mind can murder those who are strong by actions they deem as wise. A lack of conscious, a need for joy,
somebody else’s poor choice. A
price others are forced to pay for those who can’t turn away. Behind a wheel they choose to drive. Invincible they feel until someone dies. When a life is taken away mortality feels
its pain. Human thirst leads to hurt. She now is far away, no longer tracking the
days. How we all wish we could have changed. An action that only decays. © 2013 Allison PriceFeatured Review
