The Pigeon

The Pigeon

A Poem by Allen Wayne
"

Just my feelings when I see a pigeon walking or flying around in little C shaped circles. Simple beauty.

"
Bright but sullen colors spread across thy wing
Off white, of blue, of often gray
You of such a pretty thing
Do not fly off far away
Do not fly to the dusks last sun
To leave me with tears still anew
For in futures later you will be the one
When all other beauty is through

Author's Note

Allen Wayne
Written during my false imprisonment. How different the world looks when the only view of it on has is in their mind. it makes you appreciate the simple things. I still smile during spring rains and sometimes reach out to touch a tree when I walk past one. Or pick up a really look at a leaf. Maybe I am better for it. Maybe I am a fool, but I would rather be a abitious fool than a pessimistic genius.

I love this for its short-but-sweet simplicity. Everything is beautiful, even pigeons, and it's so nice to have a poem like this every now and then that focuses on small things such as the beauty of a pigeon. Very nice, thank you for sharing. :)
