Mental Patient

Mental Patient

A Poem by Allen Gunn
"

I wrote this after reading The Tell Tale Heart

"

A man and his hate stand in front of his gate

And he waits

He waits for the perfect time, and he plans and sits

Quietly to were you can hear the drop of a dime

His time comes on a dark dark night

He enters the room is soul, mind, and heart not putting up a fight

A fear stricken man alone in his bed

This man is going to do what he said

He flips the bed right there alone in the night

The eyes of this man will never see light

Water pours over this dead mans body chopped up and clean cut

The man puts the pieces under the floor no if ands or buts

There are cops at the door now but he’s calm and ready

But the ringing of madness the volume stays steady

He brings the boys in and sits them down

Thinking having a talk might die the sounds down

But this did no such thing

The madness still did ring

The volume growing louder and louder like the steadiest thing

It flipped in his head, madness had said

Turn your self in your as good as dead

So that’s what he did with little hesitation

The cops took him away he’s your classic mental patient
