Swimming Our Way Home

Swimming Our Way Home

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz

Breath Stroke Home

Swimming Our Way Home

A good case of Saigon

Every battle won

A lost war

Ok downtown is all right with me

So we head for Hue to find direction

Somehow we fell into the South China Sea

Swimming and swimming our way home

"and it's a place where they never close"
and the war just kept raging, as did the waves the soldiers had to swim through to try to find their way home.
such a moving piece.
