Legacy of a FriendA Poem by Alfred KukitzKen Leidner died 19 December 2017Legacy of a Friend He smiled broadly in his final years my buddy of 47 years His Vietnam Vet body in love with me Many a trip did we gain Our love sustained in brotherly ways. Now he passed on to higher planes The girl he loved riddled in pain From somewhere the heart calls The foolish me sends her a call I wish it were me instead of Ken The truth is he’s really gone. Now nestled in our sorrow and pain We touch each other souls in wonder’s game From first breath and first grin A something more comes into view Our touches give kindness power That grows our souls to this hour Here in my joy of her being A legacy from a friend’s desire © 2018 Alfred KukitzReviews
