in the carnival of hope

in the carnival of hope

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

popcorn please!

"

in the carnival of hope

a carnival of hope Debbie rides the
ferris wheel to the sky,
popcorn celebrations smother our eyes
even the bad guys are smiling again
on a last chance bid to ring the bell
al’s heart soars to sound and swell
teddy bear kisses Debbie’s sweet lips
the carnival hopes all is well!

Going to the carnival with a child....or a romantic interest....is a magical time. "popcorn celebrations"....love that phrase! As always, you bring us to the scene and allow us to share it with you, Al. Great write. Lydi**

Love feels like a carnival of sorts, like a joy ride on the ferris wheel. Dear kisses , sweet lips and what more but a great company. Marvelous Al.

Sounds all love and sweetness , beautifully written. But the last line. 'the carnival hopes all is well' do I detect a bit of doubt creeping in?
