A Prayer Among the Real

A Prayer Among the Real

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Consciouosness of Now

"

Here among lion, tigers and anteaters

I found the consciousness of now

settled between two arch rivals of dogma

past........future.......... unfurl, unbounded

in the language of yesterday and that of tomorrow

a chain of causation wrestles with the sound of here and now

a bird whispers, wind follows itself through leaves,

I can hear the water of rain coming, coming down on me.

not one word to classify, name or appeal

it feels like silence is the prayer of the real.
