what was his name

what was his name

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

who?

"

what was his name

Supposedly he dangled himself in front and (don’t forget) behind

the display of blurred realities.

forgetting the self that was indeed there but not there

he gazed into the blurry reflection of his own being

frustrated a mirage of relief came to his aid.

it was himself in the interior

arms, legs intact while his head slowly

crowned itself on his neck and shoulders.

the notion here was wholeness

but did he get it?

ladies & gentlemen lay your bets down on the wholeness fool

they did and the house was cleaned out

the only one there was.......... what was his name?

This poem of yours is a little tricky to follow. I had to read it twice. Upon first reading, it reminded me of how it can be for those growing older & not being as sharp in the mind. Upon second reading, I also got a sense that this “wholeness fool” is somehow hoodwinking people, altho I’m not sure how that plays out specifically. I guess one can assume one’s own wholeness & to hell with the way we might be perceived as fragmented by others! *smile* Fondly, Margie
