silence in a new way

silence in a new way

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

no bells ringing

"

silence in a new way

chimed by sound into a bell of whispers

ding and dong gathered up all the silences offered

together we made an outline of plans

ding says to me

if i have only one sound to give

how can anyone hear the coming land

dong interrupted in a most kind way

it’s okay ding we will make silence

in a brand new way.

This is a unique write, Alfred!

Since the bells are the epitome of sound it is interesting that now they prefer to make silence. Perhaps that is suggestive of the dying days of the church; where those bells are now ringing with increasingly less frequency.

A fascinating piece, Alfred. Certainly one to think about. Nicely written.

and whatever there was, the bell chimes far away now, and the feeling is one of keeping company with self...and the silence is deafening.
