for e e cummings

for e e cummings

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

little letters

"

for e e cummings

small letters develop a kinship with e e cummings
someone said goodbye to capitols
turning to the the humbleness of the letter
rhyme, insight, beauty, fable,
all kiss the sentence with lips enabled
could you see a small i tickling your chin
the o embracing a tired body spent
or how ‘bout j where you swing on its hooked branch
and of course z when you call it the end.

I wonder how you do it. Writing on a literary great and revisionist, on literary style and yet developing your own. Kudos to you Al.

hmm - watch out for those dangling participles al! a literary and laced tribute dotting the i's and crossing the t's. very creative and so well put ...

I'll hang onto that j as if I were swinging on a star! I really love the concept you brilliantly created here, Alfred.

i like it very informative. little is known about ee cummings, i know it is his pseudonym. thanks for the additional points.

very clever piece, Al...
and yes, ee cummings was one of my biggest influences years and years ago...
one of my very first books had several poems in his style.
and my spell checker hates me because i never capitalize "i" in my poems...but i don't think the speaker is as important as what the rest of the poem says...
thanks for this write.
j.
