coffins of time

coffins of time

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz

coffins of time

i addressed the day with a wink of a smile
hiding behind a thin veneer of illusions
i live my days.
jackson my dog buddy,
nonsense that creeps around my head,
oh the sheer beauty of simplicity.

but illusions fall in the circular nature of memory
as the blue monsters walk the brain
poking the uglies to scream there doom
i meander with beasts
allies of my dark history
throw fingers here and there
wait patiently as they fall back
to the dreaded coffins of time

Time and its constraints can make you feel so powerful, isn't it? We are driven and restricted by time. Life is strange that way. Memories make teleology useless. Or so I hope. Very thought provoking write, Al.
