What's Next Life

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Post op carpal surgery

"

What's Next Life

Swollen hand
Feet walk with a new name
Pain edges around the corner of my thoughts
You there........do you have a special "ouch" for me
Incision lays silent, tied up, no place to go
One handed simply because hands snooze in special ways
I'm in the carpel of my old age
Projects awaiting for a stirring of my mind
Yet here I sit, iceberg from the arctic playing my hand
What's next life?

Tis wonderful how terrible pain can prompt an episode rather not had! Tis said that every experience has a story to it.. and my goodness, haven't youproved that true. This could be described as cleverness of discomfort, of how to manage when or.. 'because hands snooze'

Thanks Marilyn!

The next day a carpet arrives. I try to yank it through the front door. not happening. Later I dress and push it in the house with my body. The humor of new ways.

You describe post surgery marvelously and with precision. Step by step and shot by shot, you question and live that experience and what entails next. Awesome Alfred. Hope all is ok.
