rumors of a kill

rumors of a kill

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

zero breath

"

rumors of a kill

been round

heard rumors of a kill

a man facing down

breath nearly gone

aside of me voices

talk kill, death, gone from the planet

a good man

at twenty the air leaves his lungs

he’s sure to rot

soul to heaven or valhalla

been round

heard he likes his myths.

Thanks Emma,

Lunch today with a friend, upon leaving, overheard a Vietnam vet speak about his buddy getting killed in Nam. I thanked him for his service.

Regards,
Al

A brief sadness of words, Al. A brief life too.. still his parents' baby... At this moment, unsure if this refers to someone specific or if an imagined tragedy...

flows tears.. for sure.
