Fellow Yellow

Fellow Yellow

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

and mellow yellow

"

Fellow Yellow

Gathering around maple of doom
Beauty of leaves seek a flight & zoom
I see one fall with a lack of zip
So I scurry on over to give it
a chance to flip
There in my hand lays the color of yellow
it's seeming demise stares at my brow
I gently return it to the land of my youth
knowing at once it was a very content fellow.

Thanks Moon's Fairest Daughter,

I know when you visit me or I visit you I leap into a mysterious maze of excitement, your beautiful face, your beautiful words.

Regards,
Al

Ah...the color yellow again...Fall is my favourite season, and although it may be depressing and slightly sinister as compared to the other jolly seasons, I enjoy how it stands for death and resurrection, neatly summarised by your poem. You urge the reader to look into the fallen leaf and understand how death is the final chapter of life and how rebirth and resurrection can only be achieved after death....perhaps the leaf really fell because it was filled with so many happy memories of its days of contentment..
