Memories

Memories

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

who can forget

"

Memories

An abundant cadence of memories
that count off on the mind's eye
Laughter, smiles, mistakes by the score,
Hillbilly music and so much more.
If you took me for a ride down memory lane
I just might visit Port Jervis for a round with my friends
Or just for a moment see me scoring a hoop
where we play to one hundred on a full full court
You might recall my first love at sixteen
Wendy the gal living in the mountains of fame
Or the laughter at Teddy's where drunk is the game
and singing Bee Gees from atop of the sofa's frame.

Underage, NY had a 18 year old drinking law. A bunch of us skipped school, drove to Port Jervis, NY and merrily drankourselves silly.

Thanks Margie!

Regards,
Al

LOVE THIS! Your details are perfectly painted & relatable! Love the haphazard rhyming which suggests an "anything goes" comfort while surfing fond memories! *smile!!* Fondly, Margie
