Dioxin's War

Dioxin's War

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

it feels like 7th century medicine

"
Dioxin's War
Sugarless foods are a chewing of air
plenty of room for the pancreas to stare
while insulin waits for its turn to drive
dioxin waits to throttle its thrive
as doctors and scientists play kindergarten with me
and allow an uneducated molecule to reek a havoc on me.

Thanks Barleygirl!

Your point well taken as it merrily pokes my butt.

I feel like I could write an essay in response to your very short little ditty here, so many ideas are stirred up as I read! Our environment is so much more invisibly toxic than we realize, with all sorts of chemicals leaching into soil, water, & produce grown in such conditions. Your statement sums up the way I feel about living in more crowded conditions, such as cities, & how much healthier I feel living in the unpolluted boondocks! Great personification here, too! *smile* (((HUGS)))

Thanks Jacob!

Chronic illness, MD diplomas on the wall, pills, pills and more pills.

oh those doctors...they want so much to prolong our lives, but then sometimes they take away so much from us that we have no life left worth living for.
