Witness of Thy Brow

Witness of Thy Brow

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

is that me

"

Witness of Thy Brow

As to how one can witness oneself

lies a mystery of the human condition

In a shadow followed by his other self

he nestled in its embrace

Duality as stock and trade

Reason & imagination folding into themselves

There was a hunch, just a small particle of hunch

disturbing that blanket of darkness

Upon his eyes after its discovery he melded

into the syntax of everything

Now among sleep, dreams and wakefulness

the witnessing of himself took place.

A very deep write, Alfred.

I understand it as being about the struggle of conscious and sub conscious thoughts; the battle within between the person we are and the person we want to be.

Without an internal mirror at our possession, how are we to really discover who we are and how we are? And it comes down to those quiet moments at all times of the day when we engage in self reflection and internal digging to really discover what lies within.

Some of us find ourselves. Some dont. The key is to never stop digging.

A very thought provoking piece. Internal musings for the troubled mind.
