Poetry as Grace

Poetry as Grace

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz

the divine is secular

Poetry as Grace

All it is in so many lines
A begging of eternity to unwind
You echo the words in transcendence caper
Penning relationships allied to wonder
For sorrow there is blue
For love heart's red
The death of blackness in words said
Conjure if you will those lines filled with veer
Never let anyone tell you that your ink lacks grace.

Its true - there has to be grace in writing... even rap lyrics can be graceful when done right...

Norman,

You are eternally invited to swim in my inkwell. Thank you!

I love the rhythm of this piece that enhances the colourful moods. The flow and blend of the inks go to leave an indelible image, which then creates - a poem.

Now that I have you as my prisoner Miss Barry in my inkwell, Jacob and I are going for a swim, like to join us?

I think it's you, Jacob, sometimes, influencing me, filling my head with notions, cajoling me into the avenues of the inkwell.

One day I must see you swimming in the inkwell with me, diving into the deep of it all, filling ourselves with laughter & song.

regards,

i really like this...there are so many colors in life, so many colors of ink (metaphorically) to use to describe...and so many different styles of poetry..
and only those who have skyscraper egos can tell others that their poetry is lacking...the heart speaks from within and the words come...as they will...oh yes, we can always work on ourselves and our writing and keep trying to get better...but what comes from the poets gut---that is what it is...and it never lacks grace...feelings are feelings.
