An Accident of Imagination

An Accident of Imagination

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Huh?

"

An Accident of Imagination

Once it had long strands of gold filament
streaming down its occipital locks
A gaze upon it with human eyes
caused tremors within the soul
It's grace of movement solidified
its stature among eternal beings
Once, and only once, it reached
beyond it self, if it could be called self,
and ventured into the realm of soul.
Upon its failure it sank miserably
into a caricature of itself.

I look at this piece like removing a plastic bottle cap from a seltzer bottle. Sometimes the cap slips away and falls. I wondered why that happened. I have been removing caps for a long time. I wondered whether the universe has its cap fall off occasionally? Or imagination? That's what I was thinking when I wrote this piece.

Thank you for visiting! I loved your responses!

It's too bad how often this happens with imagination. How beautiful the world would be if creativity met it's potential more often.
Well said! I'm glad you did let you piece "blossom" from the first line. I feel like the piece an "accident of imaginatiom" that got its chance to flourish rather than fail.

sometimes that creativeness is cut short like a long haired boy getting a crew cut...like samson getting his locks snipped...and then it becomes only that caricature of itself...

you wrote this like i write most of mine...that first line and then let it fly...

nicely conceived.

Thanks so much FT! I really don't know where this came from but it started with the opening line and continued to blossom into a whole piece.

Thanks for your visit!

such out-of-this-world beauty exists in the imagination (perhaps conjured from memories of an Earthly being) and for a moment it touches our soul until we realize it's an apparition of sorts...but these words were no accident...well-penned, my friend
