DeadFall

DeadFall

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

outside everything

"

DeadFall

on hearing of silence i left the world

calmly combing the avenues of the present

feeling the affinity grab my soul

i drifted into the hallowed fields where beauty grows

an ease summons my mind

reminding me of the eternal root

a deadfall captured the moment and

covered me in the pleasures only the soul knows.

There is definitely some Tao in this. Great piece.

It sometimes hard to believe I write this kind of prose. When I came back from Nam it became I kind of stepping stone to fall out of everyday life. My wounded muse and I learned to drift, at times beyond the ordinary, into what felt like eternal. Here I stayed musing upon musings flipping my mind on its head. Oh those early post Vietnam days.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate and respect your opinions.

Regards,
Al

this would actually be a glorious way to die...to get to drift into autumn reflecting on our life...floating to beauty and like when we were kids, buried in a pile of colorful leaves.

when all becomes still and this life steps beyond the soul finds comfort in the tangled beauty of fallen trees whose roots still lay buried beneath hallowed soil...love the depth of your poetry, Al
