The Sound

The Sound

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

in the beginning was the word

"

The Sound

Provocative as its swings down from on high
A chatter of silence began the Forward's reply
Here in the beginning sound formed amidst absent ears
Dwelling in kingdoms long to be formed
Long before a word could be said
Finally resting on the tongues of men
The war cry went out let's kill them all dead!

even before the first words were written they were spoken as a foreword....to absent ears.

now we write to absent eyes, and there is still the War Cry...as if we have learned nothing from or with our words.
