Walking Home

Walking Home

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

a bad day

"

Walking Home

missteps in the porcupine patch

ouches reaching beyond the capacity of speech

he walked silent, barefoot, the day kicking butt,

several miles of dust, one last cigarette

and that bottle of bourbon whiskey at home

ready to hit him hard in the head.

I had days like this without the bourbon. No more!

Thanks for visiting guys!

Al

the real pain is buried so deep that even the porcupine patch is no match for it... this is a tough walk, Al... well-done

for some, every day is like this...there is no bottom to that bottle...and no shoes to protect those feet that have walked so many miles of poverty.
