Demolitions & Reconstructions (A Poetic Review)

Here are poems you read & reread

you invite them home

learn to live with them

let them soak into the lining of your soul

bleed your vulnerabilities into the pages

stay with them until they feel like old friends.

a tear hangs on the horizon

you hold back

seemingly want another chance

to relive the poet’s world

you eye his imaginary form

you ask for his imaginary hand

shake it

and know in your heart

that here is a very fine man.

I will do that, Al... thanks
Such is the poet and life, Al... we demolish and reconstruct... we build and tear-down... then, when we are satisfied we put it out into the world to live and breathe on its own...

...and we do the same with our lives... :) well-said!
