Witness

Witness

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

the effect of poetry

"

After Witnessing “Eye of the Needle”

she moved in midair

the gesticulations of her body

caused a spiral intonation

grace could be said only in the eye’s view

even an idiot could be awed

the poet though would melt into his awe

carried somewhere only his soul knows.

Poetry does have an effect on the eyes and souls of the reader. The eye of the needle was a hard place to pass through or a tight gate around Jerusalem. It tells me you have to be humble, caring, loving, sharing and sacrificial to reach the intended goals...Excellent, sir...:)............

This reminds me of a passage in the BIble-
funny how poetry can be so spiritual too-

There's beauty impressed within every syllable, the imagery is so light and bright and graceful, even I'm in awe! Such a precious read! The stage just move from the eye of the needle to the lady dancing and swaying, this is enchanting!
