Chasing Tail

Man laying in the gutter of dreams,
Hands extending outward as far as
man's reach.
Between breathes, a lover's tale,
Cable channel airing commercial screams
while the tale chases its tail on TV screens.

We've all chased 'tail' at one time or another and i didn't have cable so I never had to put up with all those crappy programs. A clever write that reminds me of tongue wagging days in dreamy gutters :)

Tale chases its tail--Al, that was brilliant!! Could I bottle up that poem and keep it with me always?? In the gutter, looking at the stars is like using margarine on the toast and talking of butter.. okay, that sounded better in my head than on paper(screen in this case?)..perhaps that gutter led to butter. It's funny how my mind works, Al...
