Minus 1

Minus 1

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

cold as universal

"

Minus 1

The stillness of cold wraps around you.

Where are you?

Arctic Circle, Bering Sea, wild tundra,

maybe all three?

Is this a new Ice Age,

Universal Cold?

It feels like a trance,

you formulate a strategy

as each step advances you into the cold.

You hear screams of summer

dancing around your earlobes,

bugs flying everywhere,

humidity sweating from your pores,

You move and move again

the stillness of cold

bears down on everything.

Hi Kelly!

Yes I did take it. Those boulders were once part of a glacier back in the day. It's printed on 13 x 19 paper. I gave it to my new foot doctor.

Love,
Al

I must admit, your title took my breath away...literally! Did you take this picture? The cold is definetly making front page news, and some breath taking photo ops.

Your poetry warms my soul, Alfred.

My best,
Kelly

Keep warm guy. We are having more cold today but Sunday brings 40 degree weather with rain. That will be a warm sloppy mess.

Thanks for the visit!

Regards,
Al

love that, "screams of summer"

and those thoughts do dance around in our heads, while everything else about us goes into hibernation...we become as still as the sound of a frozen tundra.
