POETIC SUICIDE

POETIC SUICIDE

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

lured by the siren of beauty

"

Poetic Suicide

Evening and a silence wraps around my head

trapping me in a moment of poetic beauty.

I'm leery of you, silence, this potion of poison

has lured poets to your finger tips, awaiting

another death, awaiting the curtain to fall,

I hear you coming, I see the speech,

It's the hangman will you, I've fallen

all over the beauty of words, forgive me

as I give death another tug.

Stunning piece Alfred. I love the paradox between death and beauty. In particular, I really like the line "I've fallen all over the beauty of words". As I explore poetry further, I find myself falling in love with words and the challenge of finding the right ones to express how I feel.

Very provocative and thoughtful. Thanks for sharing!
