The Scales of Human Reason

The Scales of Human Reason

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

The rerun of civilization

"

The Scales of Human Reason

For war and hunger in the myth of things
For kingdoms long buried in the shifts of things
For treasures beyond imagination lifting cause
And effect to the lowest of grand scales.
Twenty fourteen, fifteen upon us,
Killing, torture, unreason descent of the savage
In an age of thermonuclear war
We have lived the ages over and again
Over three thousands times since the smile began
And yet here we are at the same old odds all over again.

I always try to think that before there is light we must face the darkest of nights. Whether that is here I'm not sure.

the scales of human reason surely have shifted in the favor of insanity, hate and just plain unwarrented rage...
and history will just keep repeating won't it?

the treasures of love and reason long since buried.
