The Creature in Me

The Creature in Me

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

What aspect of us is creature

"

I am found among dead leaves,

the color rotting from my skin,

a foot or two have trampled me,

looking closely at Earth

I feel the creature of me within,

Sometime in winter the snow

will bury my soul

I have left life but I shined

before I go.

Thanks Jacob. I was listening to Onbeing.org. Krista Tippett spoke to a women poet, ex CIA individual. An enlightening soul who translated Rilke. You may want to visit. They talk religion, bible, etc. I think the idea came from listening to them.

i really like this...yes, what part of us is creature....and what part nature.

and don't we shine just before we die..like autumn leaves...the leaves are most beautiful just before they fall from the tree and become part of earth.
