Hi! I'm a Movie Star and I'm Happy

Hi! I'm a Movie Star and I'm Happy

A Story by Alfred Kukitz
"

Always Something

"

She smiles one day into the camera. A huge grin, a grin that gave her dimples a real

run for movie making money. That constant soaking feeling of happiness that absorbed

her stood among the best in the business.

“Hi”, she say, “I’m in the movies and I’m happy.” That quote scared many people. The

attitude wrapped around her chin, dimples and looks  made her all the more a threat to

civilized discourse. Anyone……..anyone at all moved toward ga ga land under her

influence.

“Hi”, she said, “I’m in the movies and I’m happy”.

Can you imagine walking around all day, cheery, a dimple in the chin and unreal beauty

claiming happiness to the world? The pettiness of her, that long exquisite stare with

those wondrous green eyes, a territory of lostness among men, simple gestures that

showed a kindness beyond a reasonable doubt.

“Ah! Go on, please, tell us more”, purred the movie crew as they watched her scene.

She responded and they began a melting process right there in downtown Hollywood.

The camera moved in closer. Combining x position and y position they found the

exact placement of her glorious beauty, where all men fell from grace,. One day

she rhymed her soul, gaily laughing, citing a cool veer in ancient Celtic tongue, a

verse among roses and lilacs. The sounds, the slow pausing among heart felt words, her

renderings of these ancient rhymes with a wise tongue of and elegant verse softened the

hardest soul. This lass of Irish decent coming into the articulation of a poem’s essence

made one fall over. If one could get passed the “Hi, I’m a movie star and I’m happy” one

would find the real reason for her blessed joy. It seemed to stick in the craw of things;

muddling over the real reason she found a daily happiness that measured long on

heaven’s yardstick.

James Longren, her director, told one story about her meeting his family. They

laughed in unison at her attempt of her initial opening  words,

“Hi, I’m a movie star and I’m happy”.

So much so  that later that day her rendering of fine Irish poetic verse fell on empty ears.

Her name grew into a wide audience of reputation, Sarah Little, the girl of Celtic

descent, who amused and enchanted an entire cast of movie makers. Such was her lot.

Yes, no one knew happiness better than Sarah Little. Her mind lived it; her soul

manufactured it, all of it including “Hi, I’m a movie star and I’m happy”. She had

mankind under her spell. Except for her opening remark she remained the bliss of the

firmament. Could she change her opening remark? Never! It stood for something that

Sarah felt strong about, so strong even the Catholic church couldn’t unduly influence her.

This marked her coda in muddled discourse. The manifestation of her soul’s immortality

under the rubric: Hi I’m a movie star and I’m happy.

What more can I say! Men fell, stars allied with her soul, the universe was in awe of her

stature. Indeed! She meant everything to the rudiments of the universe that bore her.

Long ago in ancient days there stood a relief of stone that many thought to be the

remnants of the big bang. This legend carried forth through the generations became a

famous tonic for all unexplained phenomenon. It was said that Sarah Little bore a similar

marking from this stone. A star child born in the initial bang of the universe. Can you

imagine? Her gait, her happiness, the very opening remarks of her sweet tongue somehow

wrapped in the beginnings of everything. She bore the divine mark. What more can be

said of this wonderful lass?

To be a star child born in the initial bang of the universe. I don't think you could say any more of this lass.

Excellent writing, but you know that. Not my kind of story, but good enough to hold me in it. Just needs a little line editing.
