The Star that Matters

The Star that Matters

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Hemoglobin and you are cousins

"

Happenstance? You walk pass yourself and enter a confused dream.

The sign reads, No Lingering, Hurry. You don't know what to do.

Yes, this is the first time you walked pass yourself;

no, you don't know what the hell you are doing.

Maybe you think, find yourself, but you seem to be all over.

Wait. Settle down. Find your feet connected to the Earth.

Start looking at your legs, torso, imagine seeing your head.

Look upward, higher, higher. You find yourself among the stars

just like in the universe’s origins when star matter was you.

Note: hemoglobin was found in exploding stars.

Thanks Jacob! I really wasn't that crazy about it but if others enjoy it what can I say.

we are the universe and the universe is us...

we need to treat nature well because we sprung from it in so many ways.

really like this piece, Al.

very much.
it's celestial...outer worldly while at the same time inner worldly.
